NEWS: The Presidency has raised an alarm over fake Facebook account in the name of Zahra, President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter.

The Presidency’s concern is in a statement by Mr Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.
He stated that “merchants of mischief have taken their antics against the first family further by creating a fake Facebook account in the name of Zahra, President Muhammadu Buhari’s daughter.’’
He said the fake account, conspicuously different from the authentic one, was used to post a message on April 17, at 9.07 a.m.
The presidential aide revealed that a picture of President Buhari with snowflakes all over him, and being welcomed to a foreign country was used, alongside this message: “children of God, here is a 75-year-old man walking in snow without cardigan just to rescue the battered economic status of Nigeria and some of you senseless people feel he travels too much, as if he travels for partying or merrymaking.
“God bless Nigeria. Please share…”
Adesina, therefore, repudiated the Facebook account, saying it did not belong to Zahra and urged members of the public to be wary, and see through the intentions of those behind it.
He added that those behind the fake account sought to attract odium to the first family, and did not mean well for the country.

An 18-year-old boy has been arrested by police in Edo state after he allegedly killed his mother then had sex with her corpse for ritual purposes. Samuel Emobor Oghenekporboro allegedly killed his 58-year-old mother, identified as Mrs Christiana Ighoyivwi, by strangling her until she passed out at their residence at 8B, Market road, Ologbo Community along Benin- Sapele road in Ikpoba-Okha local government area, Edo state. The suspect was paraded before newsmen on Wednesday, alongside other criminals, in Benin. The young man confessed to strangling his mother at 5 a.m. on October 10. NEWS: Kano state Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, has said that the All Progressives Congress will win Kano local government polls

Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano state says that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will emerge victorious in the upcoming local government election in the state. He said this on Tuesday, January 30, while presenting APC flags to 16 Kano south chairmanship canditates at Kwanar Dan-Gora in Kiru local government area. The governor urged the aspirants and supporters to be more concerned about forging a united front and ensuring that the APC remained the party to beat in the February 10 local polls in the state. Ganduje thanked them for their loyalty to the party, especially since after the primary that produced him as candidate.  The governor, who also received defectors ‎to the party, urged them to work towards its progress and be law-abiding. “We want you to shun all differences and accommodate the new entrants into the party. “With the strength of the party in the state, APC will win the local government election," Ganduje said.  The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports
